Passionate and demanding, yet encouraging and patient; her smile and enthusiasm are contagious and most of her students find themselves addicted to practicing! After 15 years of teaching and almost 25 years of playing the violin, Christina Foster has a earned a reputation for cultivating happy and enthusiastic young musicians.
Ms. Foster earned a degree in music education from the University of North Texas, one of the top music schools in America.
She has performed in Symphony Orchestras, musicals, churches, quartets, weddings, and has performed with country music star Sheryl Crowe.
In addition to being a middle school orchestra director she has also taught private lessons, group lessons, sectionals, audition preparation classes, judged auditions and Solo & Ensemble events, and worked as an orchestra clinician.
During her 15 years of teaching she has worked with almost 1,000 students. Her students have achieved success in auditions and competitions, consistently receiving the highest ratings from judges. Several of her former students are currently pursuing college degrees in music performance or music education.
She achieves high quality results while teaching with kindness, love, and creativity. Personalized plans are created around each student and their goals. She works to instill a love for music and – above all – a love for learning.

We can’t say enough about how much you have impacted our son.
We have to peel him away from practicing violin each night to work on other subjects. He spends much of the time on his computer watching YouTube videos of other orchestras and musicians. He often goes to bed with books of music. Literally reading music books to put himself to sleep. I asked him once if he could hear the music in his head and he said “Yes”. He quizzes us on music concepts he knows we can’t answer, just to show how much he’s learned.
He’s proud of himself and holds himself to a high standard on his playing. I think it’s made him a better student. Motivated him, created a drive towards improving in all areas.
I ask him now and then which is his favorite class and it’s always Orchestra. Who his favorite teacher is Ms. Foster. I ask him what he did at school today and all he talks about is Orchestra, never about any other subjects.
You have created a caring, stimulating environment of mutual respect for these kids to grow as people, as much as musicians, and Ethan has thrived and shown a passion for violin like we’ve rarely seen in him.

Playing viola is so much fun that it’s hard to stop. Learning with you has been a great experience and gives me hope that teachers do love their students. I have a really bad anxiety problem and your class relieves it. Seeing your smile every day makes me instantly happy. Learning to play viola was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. When I’m stressed I have an outlet that helps me relax. It’s one of the few things that actually works for me. I’ll never forget the huge, positive impact you’ve made on my life.
